Sweden × Vietnam Fusion Recipe Series

Viet‑Coffee Australia — Global Coffee Culture Kitchen

Sweden’s fika culture is soft, warm and spiced.
Vietnam’s coffee culture is bold, aromatic and chocolate‑rich.

Put them together and you get a flavour series that is:

  • comforting
  • bold
  • aromatic
  • beautifully balanced

Here are five original fusion recipes that bring Saigon and Stockholm together.

1. Vietnamese Kaffekask Fusion (Daklak Winter Warmer)

A bold Vietnamese twist on Sweden’s rustic coffee‑and‑vodka classic.

Ingredients

  • 120 ml Saigon Phin Daklak (hot, phin‑brewed)
  • 25 ml vodka or brännvin
  • 10 ml condensed milk (optional, for a Vietnamese touch)
  • Cinnamon stick

Method

  1. Brew a strong phin of Saigon Phin Daklak.
  2. Add vodka to a heat‑safe glass.
  3. Pour in the hot coffee.
  4. Stir in condensed milk if you want a smoother, sweeter version.
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Why it works

Daklak’s earthy Robusta stands up to the alcohol and adds chocolate depth that Swedish filter coffee can’t match.

2. Kanelbulle Vietnamese Affogato

Sweden’s cinnamon bun meets Vietnam’s bold coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 warm kanelbulle (Swedish cinnamon bun)
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 40 ml S Blend or Saigon Phin Daklak (hot, concentrated)

Method

  1. Place the kanelbulle in a bowl or plate.
  2. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream beside it.
  3. Pour hot Vietnamese coffee over the ice cream.
  4. Tear pieces of the bun and dip into the melting affogato.

Why it works

The cinnamon and butter amplify the chocolate notes in Vietnamese Robusta.

A festive fusion of creamy Hanoi egg coffee and crisp Swedish gingerbread.
